What the critics say

Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (LPB) — 99/100 · Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com, 30/11/2018 · Drink 2022-2055

Composed of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, the 2016 Trotanoy is characteristically a little closed at this youthful stage, slowly unfurling to reveal compelling notions of chocolate-covered cherries, black raspberries and mulberries with touches of pencil lead, crushed rocks, underbrush and chargrill plus a fragrant waft of star anise. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a rock-solid frame o…

Neal Martin (NM) — 96–98/100 · Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com, 28/04/2017 · Drink 2028-2055

The 2016 Trotanoy is a blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc this year. It easily possesses the finest bouquet within the J-P Moueix portfolio. Antonio Galloni (AG) — 95–98/100 · Vinous, 25/04/2017

The 2016 Trotanoy is another wine in the Moueix stable that is both powerful and finessed. Resonant and beautifully expressive on the palate, the 2016 possesses superb depth throughout. Saline notes underpin dark fruit, lavender, plum and violet. Trotanoy can often be a bit brutish in the early going, but I see little of that here today. This is a fabulous showing.
