Chateau Pavie Macquin is a Premier Grand Cru Classé B estate in Saint-Émilion, situated on the appellation's famous limestone plateau. Founded by Albert Macquin, a pioneer in combatting phylloxera through vine grafting, the estate remains under in the family but is managed by Nicolas Thienpont, with oenologist Stéphane Derenoncourt overseeing winemaking. Pavie Macquin's wines are known for their richness, concentration, and balance, offering notes of ripe black fruit, spice, and a characteristic limestone-driven tension, minerality and freshness.

Perfume and mineral lift on the nose with cool black fruit at the core. Intense and ripe. Satiny textured, long and refreshing. Very well-made.

James Suckling (JS) — 92–93/100 · JamesSuckling.com, 27/03/2015

A juicy and pretty PM with chocolate, walnuts and dark fruit. Full body, ultra fine tannins and a long and beautiful finish. Very tight and polished.
