The spectacular 1997 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Madonna del Piano (600 cases) is a riveting example with great intensity as well as fabulous concentrated fruit, and offering notes of roasted herbs, pepper, new saddle leather, black cherries, minerals, incense, and spice. Although tightly knit, the finish lasts for over 40 seconds. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2018. Kudos!

The 1997 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Madonna del Piano is a sweet, opulent wine packed with generous, super-ripe fruit. It is hard not to admire the wine's youthful personality.
