A notably more elegant and complex nose exhibits notes of spice, plum, violet and sandalwood. The rich and sexy middle weight flavors possess lovely delineation and while the mouth feel is lacy there is no lack of power or punch on the sappy and mouth coating finish that delivers outstanding persistence. This will also require some patience to allow more depth than presently exists to better develop but this beauty should be well worth the wait. Deep ruby-red. Wilder and deeper on the nose than the Clos Vougeot, offering scents of black raspberry and bitter cherry lifted by menthol and mint. Dense with material and extremely unevolved, showing little easy sweetness to the flavors of crushed black cherry and chocolate.
