The 2008 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses is sensual and inviting. Layers of endless, perfumed fruit grace the palate, followed by hints of white flowers, herbs, mint and rose petals. The wine continues to open up in the glass in an extraordinary display of class and elegance. A clean, inviting finish makes it impossible to resist a second taste. The energy, vibrancy and freshness are first-rate. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028. Score: 95 Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2018-2028 01 May 2011 |

This is stunningly deep aromatically as the dazzlingly complex nose presents a completely different fruit and mineral profile with its highly spiced floral and blue and black fruit aromas that lead to delicious and seductively textured flavors that possess much more finesse as they dance across the palate before culminating in an intensely mineral-suffused finish that delivers simply terrific length. There is a hint of dryness present that is probably from the recent bottling. This doesn't have the sheer size and weight of its two bigger brothers but it's every bit as classy but it will still require at least a decade to be at its best. Outstanding Score: 93 Allen Meadows, Burghound Maturity: 2018+ 01 January 2011 |

Tasted out of barrel at the Domaine. With 50% of the Amoureuses de-stemmed, this has a complex, slightly leafy, tertiary nose with outstanding definition and clarity. It is not an in-your-face, opulent, ostentatious bouquet..more refined and nuance, understated red-berried fruit with touches of cranberry and strawberry. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, but supple tannin. I just love the subtle stemmy vein through this Amoureuses that stylistically nods towards Armand Rousseau. Edgy finish. Intellectual, even at this primordial stage. Drink now-2030+ Tasted November 2009. Score: 93 - 95 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2010-2030+ 01 March 2010 |
