A truly special site, this is a majestic Champagne that has superb darker notes of brulée, roasted almonds and lightly spiced caramel, plus blue fruit aromas, cassis and mineral flecked earth. The palate's really rich and structurally powerful; it has a long and chiseled shape that drives deep and long. Powerful yet supple and curvaceous, seductive texture. A great Champagne.

Firm and well-knit, with aromas of spring blossom, smoke, ground anise and clove accenting the subtle richness of almond financier, golden currant and lemon parfait flavors on the creamy palate. Fine and chalky, lingering on the finish. Disgorged November 2013. Drink now through 2025. 1,500 cases made.

Pale yellow-gold. Ripe, mineral-tinged orange, yellow plum and pear aromas, with an exotic floral note that expands in the glass. Minerally and energetic on the palate, with densely packed orchard and citrus fruit flavors that offer a suave interplay of depth and vivacity. The seamless, sappy finish features smoky minerals, a hint of honeysuckle and lingering spiciness. Disgorged in November, 2013.

The 2005 Clos des Goisses impresses for its energy, focus and cut. The 2005 isn’t a huge Goisses, rather it is a Champagne that stands out for its tension, something that is quite rare in this vintage. Graphite, yellow stone fruits, slate, minerals and tropical-inflected overtones appear on the finish, adding further complexity and nuance with a dash of exoticism just to round things out. I will not be surprised if the 2005 blossoms into an even more complete Champagne with further time in bottle. This is the second vintage made in the new winery, which has allowed for better control of temperature and other variables. (93+ Points)
