Tasting Notes | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
More fresh and pure, with knockout aromas and flavors of pepper, cassis, spice-box, coffee bean and edgy minerality, the 2010 Cote Rotie La Turque possesses spectacular purity, full-bodied power and a massive finish. Despite the slightly burly profile here, it stays seamless and elegant on the palate, with the overall purity, freshness and concentration of the vintage. Like the 2009, this blend of 93% Syrah and 7% Viognier should start to shine around age 10 and have 3 decades of longevity. Score: 98 - 100 Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2013-2043 01 December 2013 |

The 2010 Cote Rotie La Turque may be even more concentrated and richer in fruit. It is still backward with more tannin than the 2009, but also some attractive minerality as well as plenty of spring flower, blackberry and cassis notes intermixed with hints of truffles and steak tartare/beef blood. This dense, nearly over-the-top, rich wine possesses spectacular concentration, length and potential. After its release in about 14 months, it will need to be forgotten for 5-7 years, and drunk over the following 25-30 years. Score: 95 - 98 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2018-2048 01 December 2012 |

Reminiscent of the 1988, the sublime, virtually perfect 2010 Cote Rotie La Turque boasts off-the-charts intensity as well as lots of graphite, blackberry, black raspberry and truffle notes. Full-bodied, powerful and tannic, it requires a decade of cellaring and should age effortlessly for 25-30 years. Score: 98 - 100 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 01 December 2011 |
