There is enough wood to still be visible on the acacia blossom-infused nose of pear, citrus and tangerine hints. I like the density of the mid-palate that retains very fine acidity in the context of the 2009 vintage, all wrapped in an energetic, balanced and lingering finish. If there is a nit it's that the complexity is only average at present though my score implicitly assumes that more will develop with another year or two of bottle age even though this could be approached now with pleasure. In sum this is clearly still on the way up. Score: 91 Allen Meadows, International Wine Cellar Maturity: 2017+ 14 August 2014 |
