Farmyardy perfume, rich black fruit nose. Lots of tannin, very tarry yet with amazing perfumed fruit. Don't drink for the near future. Lovely perfumed length. 4/5 stars Score: - Decanter, Decanter.com 01 November 2001 |

Bright ruby-red. Aromas of cassis, blackberry, sweet butter, leather, olive and violet. Very intensely flavored and dense but more austere than the '99; nicely delineated flavors of black fruits, licorice, graphite and minerals. Conveys a chewy impression of extract. Finishes long, with firm tannins that avoid hardness. Score: 90 - 92 Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 01 May 2000 |
