Tasted at the Bordeaux lunch at The Ledbury. This is a fine Margaux for the vintage. Quite tight at first on the nose with touches of chocolate and wet tobacco, saline notes developing with time. The palate is medium-bodied, supple and generous with good fruit concentration. Smooth texture and quite plump on the finish thanks to the Merlot, although never harbouring ambitions for complexity. It is almost Saint Estephe-like after time in the glass. Drink now-2018. Tasted July 2010. Score: 89 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2011-2018 01 January 2011 |
