This chunky-styled Pomerol displays notes of sweet cherries, smoked herbs, licorice, chocolate, and espresso roast. Medium-bodied, fleshy, and corpulent, it is a fruity, fleshy effort that should drink well for 8-10+ years. Score: 89 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2007-2017+ 01 June 2007 |

One of the oldest estates in Pomerol with a mention in 1589, Domaine de l'Eglise is situated, as the name suggests, close to the church on the famous plateau next to Eglise Clinet. Since 1972 it has been the property of the Casteja family who own Batailley in Pauillac and Trotte Vieille in St Emilion. A good value traditionally-styled Pomerol.
