Typically, the quintessential feminine side of Margaux is represented by Prieure-Lichine-s 2011. Floral, raspberry, black cherry and currant notes intermixed with spice box are present in this deep ruby/purple-colored effort. The richness builds incrementally and becomes more impressive than it initially seems. A well-made, supple-textured, delicious 2011, it is an undeniable success for the vintage. Enjoy it over the next 15+ years. Score: 90 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2014-2029 01 April 2014 |

This sexy, delicious effort is atypically fat, fleshy and opulent for a 2011. While the acidity is present, it is lower than in many Medocs. The wine displays lots of blue, red and black fruits intertwined with a floral note that provides additional complexity. Front end-loaded with a mid-palate and finish that fill out nicely, this beautifully made wine is a true sleeper of the vintage. Drink it over the next 15+ years. The Prieure Lichine is a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot aged in 50% new oak, picked from 21st and 28th September. It has a slightly aggressive nose at first that takes time to mellow in the glass, offering up black cherries and touches of cassis. The palate is medium-bodied with dry, chalky tannins that lead to a slightly pinched finish. I believe this should harmonize and mellow during its élevage and may merit a higher score. Tasted April 2012. (86-88+ Points) Score: 86 - 88 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 30 April 2012 |

Well-expressed cassis fruit, elegance and charm, a lovely expression of Margaux in quite a forward style. Score: 16 - 17 Decanter, Decanter.com Maturity: 2015-2022 16 April 2012 |

Dark blackish crimson. The first cedary note of the tasting! Pauillac-like on the nose. A bit wimpy on the palate compared with what I expected from the nose. Smoothed but not terribly flavourful on the palate. A bit dull but tannins are better managed than those many wines where they are too dry so it has the opportunity for greater improvement. Clean and direct in profile, with polished blackberry and black currant fruit melded with a chocolate note. Stays polished through the finish, if a touch light. Score: 88 - 91 James Molesworth, Wine Spectator 11 April 2012 |

Blueberry and spices on the nose. Full to medium body, with chewy tannins and a medium finish. Lacks a tiny bit of a center palate. Score: 89 - 90 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com 01 April 2012 |
