This is an elegant, somewhat oaky effort, but there is plenty of substance underneath the veneer of wood. Deep ruby/purple, with a nose of licorice, black currants, and a hint of mushrooms, this smoky, complex, seductive wine can be enjoyed now and over the next ten years. Score: 87 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2003-2013 01 April 2003 |

Fabulous aromas of crushed berries and dried flowers. Full-bodied, with extremely well-integrated tannins in a dense fruit structure. Turns smoky and ripe on the finish. Complex. Very Margaux. Finest ever from this estate. Best after 2009. 7,500 cases made. Score: 92 James Suckling, Wine Spectator Maturity: 2009+ 31 March 2003 |

Intense blueberry and blackcurrants on the nose with well-integrated oak. Quite rich on the palate; tannic but not robust. Spicy black fruits with notes of cassis. Exotic and quite racy Labegorce-Zede with good weight. Excellent wine. Score: 90 - 92 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 01 June 2002 |
