Tasting Notes:

The 2009 Meursault Perrieres is stunningly beautiful. It shows fabulous intensity and grace from start to finish. Suggestions of mint and white flowers give the wine a higher register that keeps the wine light on its feet despite its considerable richness. The Perrieres is intensely perfumed from start to finish, with layers of crushed rocks that wrap around the palate on the textured vivid close. Anticipated maturity: 2016+.

Very rich and marzipan. Very solid. Four square, the wine that most reminds me of the Leflaives so far. Solid, dense and not much lift at the moment! Massive wine. Dominique Lafon loves this and the Clos de la Barre in 2009. No charm. (17++ Points)

Tasted out of barrel at the Domaine. The most refined of Dominique Lafon’s Premier Crus, but the most clarity and transparency, dominated by its mineralite with a almost Leflaive-like personality. Captivating. The palate is incredibly refined, succinct crushed stone flavours entwined with hazelnut, almond and a touch of fresh ginger, leading to an intense yet beautifully poised, focused finish. Wonderful. Tasted January 2011.
