Tasting Notes

Tasted blind at Southwold ’06 Bordeaux tasting. This is a little disjointed on the nose: dark cherries, mulberry, freshly tilled earth and a touch of black pepper. The palate is medium-bodied, gritty tannin, sharp acidity with a little hardness towards the finish that will mellow with time. Very sweet and plump on the finish, which detracts from the sense of sophistication.

Score: 88

Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 01 July 2010

Looks very evolved. Some raw greenness on the nose. Sweet start but a little raw and briary. Some volume. Chewy finish. High volatile acidity.

Score: 15 - 16

Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2014-2020 27 January 2010

This is a relatively lean, austere, mid-weight Margaux that exhibits some pleasant black cherry and black currant fruit as well as dusty, earthy notes in an emaciated style. Drink it over the next 10 years.

Score: 82

Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2009-2019 01 February 2009

Some pleasant berry and currant character but rather light and short. Turns bitter.

Score: 80 - 84
