Tasting Notes | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
This estate, owned by L’Eglise Clinet’s Denis Durantou, has produced a dense purple-colored, relatively backward wine with a nose of creme caramel, white chocolate, black cherry and black currant. The wine is medium to full-bodied, very pure, elegant and in need of several years of cellaring. It should last for 10-15 years. Score: 89 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2012-2027 01 March 2012 |

A brilliant effort from proprietor Denis Durantou, this wine (80% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon) hit 14.5% natural alcohol. Rich mocha and black cherry notes are followed by a powerful, lavishly rich, almost extravagant style of wine that is almost atypical for Lalande de Pomerol, yet the purity, richness, and density are all there. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. (Tasted two times.) Score: 90 - 93 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2010-25 01 April 2010 |

Very chewy for this appellation, with lots of tannins. Character of ripe fruit and toasted oak. It all comes together. Full and juicy on the palate. Try after 2015. Score: 92 James Suckling, - Maturity: 2015+ 15 February 2012 |

Blueberry and loads of dark fruit on the nose. Full-bodied, with a solid core of fruit and silky tannins. Juicy finish. Score: 90 - 93 James Suckling, Wine Spectator 01 April 2010 |

Consistently impressive Lalande de Pomerol from Denis Durantou, just a stone's throw from his celebrated Eglise Clinet. Denis says that the terroir here has the potential of Pomerol, making this a fantastic value at a much more affordable price. 90M, 10CF. Attractively spiced mocha nose with some toast. Smooth in texture with sweet black plum blanced by spicy undertones. Creamy with good density and a fresh finish. Score: 89 - 92 Albany Vintners, - 01 April 2010 |

Very rich and broad and opulent. Very hot and exaggerated. Rather rustic. Concentrated. Awkward. Score: 15 - 16 Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2016 to 2022 29 March 2010 |
