While not as intense as the Genevrières, the 2000 Charmes offers drop dead gorgeous aromas of impeccably pure citrus, hazelnut, brown butter and a trace of toasty oak combined with dramatic, round, intense, powerful flavors that display limestone, pear and impressive detail. This offers a finish that is rich, penetrating, long and impeccably well balanced. A really beautifully effort. Score: 92 Allen Meadows, Burghound Maturity: 2010-2017 01 July 2003 |

Subtle aromas of apple, hazelnut and spice. At once fat and fine, with slow-building flavors of lemon, minerals and hazelnut. Long, rich finishing flavors really coat the tongue. Score: 92 - 94 Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 01 September 2002 |

The mineral, apple, and pear-scented 2000 Meursault Charmes is a wine that combines both power and finesse. It explodes on the palate with candied pear, butter, anise, and spiced apple flavors that, while highly expressive, seem delicate and lace-like. It is medium-bodied, precise, and exceptionally long in the finish. Drink it over the next 10 years. Score: 92 - 94 Pierre Rovani, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2001-2011 31 December 2001 |
