Aromas of toasty oak and ripe fruit lead to a full body, with a solid core of fruit and a chewy finish. Needs some time to come around. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best after 2011. 12,000 cases made. Score: 92 James Suckling, Wine Spectator Maturity: 2011+ 31 October 2008 |

The 2006 Guidalberto is a showstopper. This opulent, super-ripe wine bursts from the glass with the essence of sweet, dark fruit, smoke, tar and licorice, showing stunning depth in its richness and expansiveness. Everything is in the right place, as the wine possesses superb balance, particularly in the way its structural components are beautifully woven into the fabric of its fruit. Readers will have a hard time keeping their hands off this wine, yet it should continue to improve to age 20, perhaps beyond. An undeniable success, Tenuta San Guido’s 2006 Guidalberto is a great example of an overachieving wine in this important Tuscan vintage. It is highly recommended. Guidalberto is Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. Score: 92 Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2010-2026 30 June 2008 |
