The 2007 Clinet offers attractive kirsch, black cherry, leather and game on the nose, a touch of truffle and peppermint emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a gamy, leathery entry, a healthy pinch of black pepper lacing the black fruit, leading to a surprisingly structured and masculine finish. Unlike some of its Pomerol peers, I can see this Clinet holding up and even improving over the next decade. This was a very positive showing. Tasted February 2017. Score: 91 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2017-2030 30 June 2017 |

A deep purple/black colour. A rich plum-scented nose, with cassis and a touch of violets. Moderate definition. This is not bad at all: those dense saturated tannins that are the trademark of young Clinet but good balance and fruit intensity, not overblown or overripe, furry finish with blackberries, cassis and a touch of Doris plum. Moderate length with just a little dryness. Hopefully this will put on a little flesh in barrel. Score: 89 - 91 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 01 April 2008 |

One of the finest Pomerols of the vintage, Clinet-s 2007 reveals an impressive display of chocolate-infused black cherry and blackberry fruit intertwined with hints of truffles and incense. It is a dense, medium to full-bodied, well-built effort with sweet tannin as well as surprising richness and length. This beauty, a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc, can be drunk now or cellared for 10-15 years. It was made from yields of 35 hectoliters per hectare, and the natural alcohol is a remarkable 14%. Score: 91 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 30 April 2010 |

Shows blackberry and olive on the nose. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and sweet, ripe fruit for the vintage. Balanced and pretty. Best after 2012. 2,915 cases made. Score: 89 James Suckling, Wine Spectator 30 March 2010 |

Clean, focused and well made for the vintage, with berry, dark chocolate and floral character. Medium body, silky tannins and a delicate finish. Score: 86 - 89 James Suckling, Wine Spectator 31 March 2008 |

Sweet and super-ripe aromas. Quite dramatic! A style, as usual, that has been pushed to ripeness at all costs. Rather inky finish. Certainly attention-grabbing but I’d like just a little bit more freshness. Score: 15 Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2011-2016 10 April 2008 |

Dark, spicy fruit character. Ripeness pushed to the limit of this difficult vintage. Soft, layered fruit. Good extract but misses a touch of vivacity on the finish. Drink 2011-2018. Score: 16 Decanter, - Maturity: 2011-2018 08 April 2008 |
