---|---|---|---|---|
Good dark red. Expressive aromas of currant, licorice, mocha, leather, graphite and spices. Then slightly hard-edged in the mouth, with a peppery element to the dark fruit and spice fla vors. Finishes a tad pinched, with dusty, palate-saturating tannins. I'd give this a couple years in the bottle to harmonize. 87(+?) points Score: 87 Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 01 July 2010 |

Good deep ruby-red. Crushed cassis, licorice, mint and violet on the rather cool nose. Then fairly round and moderately sweet in the middle palate, but with a slightly peppery quality to the dark berry, mineral and dark chocolate flavors. Finishes with surprising subtle persistence and slightly edgy tannins. Score: 86 - 89 Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 20 May 2008 |

Showing better than it did from cask, this soft, generous, dark ruby/purple-tinged 2007 exhibits sweet black currant fruit intermixed with cedar, roasted herbs, and subtle smoke. Round, hedonistic, and already complex, this blend of 73.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26.5% Merlot should drink well for 12-15 years. Score: 90 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2010-2025 30 April 2010 |

Aromas of currant bush and dark berries lead to a medium body, with velvety tannins and an interesting combination of currant, sweet tobacco and cedar on the finish. Fresh and clean. Not a great Duhart, but attractive. Drink now. 22,915 cases made. Score: 87 James Suckling, Wine Spectator 31 March 2010 |

A bit angular, with licorice, tobacco and berry character. Tar too. Medium-to-full body, firm tannins and a medium finish. Slightly hollow midpalate. Score: 86 - 89 James Suckling, Wine Spectator 31 March 2008 |

Deep ruby. Strong mineral element on the nose, which also shows some ripe fruit. Round and flattering. Quite a fruit bomb! Very supple with pretty refined fruit. This could be a good buy for early drinking. Score: 17 Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2011-2018 10 April 2008 |

Dense colour, pronounced Cabernet Sauvignon nose, slightly smoky, even leathery fruit, density of fruit, elegance over power, but power is there. Drink 2013-22. Score: 17 Decanter, - Maturity: 2013-2022 08 April 2008 |

A very deep purple, garnet core. The nose is very intense with black fruits, sous-bois, very savoury fruits. Very lifted, developing touches of black cracked pepper and a hint of sea salt. The palate is medium-bodied, perhaps a little coarse with a slight burnt quality on the finish. A peculiar showing for Duhart - interesting and distinctive but lacking its usual breeding. This is disappointing. Score: 83 - 85 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 08 April 2008 |

Opaque ruby colour. Brooding, intense nose with occasional flashes of fruit. Thick and chunky with tarry fruit and hints of graphite. Finishes with a punch of coffee roast and chewy tannins. Score: 88 - 90 Albany Vintners, - 01 April 2008 |
