The 2007 Talbot has a pleasant, classic nose of singed leather and game, a little muffled compared to its peers. But there is a sense of charm that I like, and it speaks of its appellation origin. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth texture. It lacks depth and grip but is nicely balanced with a cedar-tinged finish that pulls up short, as if to say, that's your lot. Drink now. Tasted February 2017. Score: 87 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2017-2027 30 June 2017 |

This Talbot has very good ripeness on the nose with dense black fruit, although if anything it is perhaps lacking a little delineation. Lifted blackberries, a touch of iodine and wine gums. The palate is medium-bodied: this is obviously a wine in which a lot of work has gone into. Blackberry, cedar and a touch of bilberry, quite chewy tannins with a sappy finish. This is either going to be wonderful after bottling or the exact opposite – let’s hope the latter. Good effort. Score: 88 - 89 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 08 April 2008 |

This lighter-styled 2007 reveals subtle notes of herbs, black cherries, plums, and currants. It is a dark ruby-hued, elegant, mid-weight wine to consume over the next 7-10 years. Score: 86 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2010-2020 30 April 2010 |

There's blueberry jam and violet on the nose in this medium-bodied red, with slightly chewy tannins, a fresh herb undertone and a medium finish. Slightly hollow. Needs time to come together. Best after 2011. 27,500 cases made. Score: 87 James Suckling, Wine Spectator 31 March 2010 |

Has a pretty core of ripe plum and berry fruit, with a medium body, fine tannins and a clean finish. Score: 87 - 90 James Suckling, Wine Spectator 01 April 2008 |

Good red-ruby. Slightly reduced aromas of black raspberry, cherry, licorice, leather and violet. Smooth and fruity, with a rather silky texture and moderate ripeness to the flavors of black cherry and menthol. Finishes with dusty, slightly drying tannins. Score: 86 - 88 Stephen Tanzer, - 20 May 2008 |

Very healthy crimson. Light, savoury and a little bit leafy. Sweet palate but very round, light tannins. Not desperately refreshing but an easy drink with some sap. Pretty green finish. Score: 16 Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2011-2017 10 April 2008 |

Intense deep red, good intensity of fruit, slightly floral and lifted, quite meaty middle palate and good ripeness overall, good Saint-Julien for medium term. Drink 2012-18. Score: 16 Decanter, - Maturity: 2012-2018 08 April 2008 |
