---|---|---|---|---|
The 2007 Beychevelle has a more vigorous bouquet compared directly against the 2007 Talbot: dusky black fruit, sage and a hint of espresso. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, more mature than I was expecting with a soft but cohesive, meaty/dried blood finish that has a sense of rusticity, ferrous on the aftertaste. Drink now and over the next 10-12 years. Tasted February 2017. Score: 89 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2017-2030 30 June 2017 |

Tasted at the UGC in London. This is quite reserved on the nose. Cedar, smoke, a touch of bacon fat but missing a little fruit concentration. There is a little hardness on the palate, firm, blackberry, a touch of bitter chocolate, cedar, but pulling together on the finish. Masculine, this will need a bit of time in bottle but it has good weight for the vintage. Score: 91 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2012-2019 01 May 2010 |

Bright medium-deep red. Musky aromas of plum, currant and tobacco leaf. Juicy, sappy and rather stylish, combining pepper and herb qualities with a subtle touch of sweetness. Not a hugely concentrated wine but silky and insidious, finishing with suave, spreading tannins. Score: 89 Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 01 July 2010 |

A strong effort in this mid-weight, charming vintage, this potential sleeper of the vintage exhibits deep black raspberry, black currant, and floral notes, a sweet entry on the palate, ripe tannin, low acidity, and a round, generous mouthfeel. It should drink well for a decade. Score: 89 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2010-2020 30 April 2010 |

Blueberry and floral aromas follow through to a medium body, with firm tannins and a slightly lean, austere finish. A little bottle age should soften it. Drink now. 22,500 cases made. Score: 85 James Suckling, Wine Spectator 31 March 2010 |

Solid crimson. Low key and scented. Very perfumed. Sweet start nicely disguises the vintage's shortcomings. Really nicely done. Not ambitious but very rounded for early drinking. Score: 16 - 17 Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2009-2017 27 October 2009 |

Good deep colour, fragrant and floral fruit (peonies) on the nose, nicely extracted and shows the elegance of Saint-Julien, not great length nor fruit, but good wine. Score: 16 Decanter, - Maturity: 2012-2017 08 April 2008 |

Good colour and a gently brooding on the nose with notes of red and black berry fruit with cloves. Light and bright forest fruits, berries, earth and spice provide interest and focus on the middle-weight palate. Tannins are ripe and the whole impression is of a lighter-styled, well-made wine for early drinking. 2007 suits the style of Beychevelle Score: 88 - 90 Albany Vintners, - 01 April 2008 |
