Tasting Notes

Equally cool and more elegant aromas are comprised by notes of exotic jasmine tea, a range of floral elements and a whiff of mineral reduction. The almost painfully intense and stonier middleweight flavors aren’t as powerful, but they are clearly finer while delivering excellent length on the linear, balanced and moderately austere finale. This beauty will need at least a few years of keeping to develop more overall depth.

Score: 91 - 94

Pale lemon colour. This is discreet at first on the nose, but classic Genevrières delicacy and intricacy develops on the palate, all lightly washed in a citrus juice. The oak speaks a little but is well integrated. Not a massive wine but all nicely in place. Drink from 2026-2032. Tasted: November 2022

The 2021 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru offers fleeting scents of Mirabelle and pear on the nose, just missing a bit of Meursault typicité. The palate is well balanced though it lacks the nuance of the finest Genevrières, tapering a little towards the finish.
