Tasting Notes | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
Love the slightly tart but deeply textured feel that captures the clarity and austerity of limestone but widens out to a creamy mid palate with blackberries, redcurrants and spiced cloves.Will soften further over ageing, and has all the elements in place to be a thoroughly enjoyable wine for drinking within five to six years, and will last for a further decade from there. Mandarin notes on the finish Score: 92 Jane Anson, JaneAnson.com 15 May 2022 |

Grippy and textured from the get go, with mouthwatering acidity. The focus here is on sleek but crushed-velvety textured tannins with the blackcurrant pastille, black cherry and raspberry fruit taking a beat and settling in the background. Minerality is on show in the slate and crushed stone flavours with some caramel and toast notes on the finish. Good potential here. Score: 90 Decanter, Decanter.com 15 May 2022 |

Offering up aromas of sweet berries, cherries, warm spices and loamy soil, the 2021 de Ferrand is a medium to full-bodied, lively and incisive Saint-Emilion with a bright, limestone-driven profile. It should evolve gracefully in barrel and in bottle. Score: 89 - 90 William Kelley, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 29 April 2022 |

The 2021 Château De Ferrand offers a riper, darker style in its plum and black cherry fruits as well as notes of tobacco and chocolate. It's medium-bodied, has nicely integrated oak, and a good finish. Score: 88 - 90 Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com 06 February 2022 |
