Tasting Notes

A discreet touch of wood frames the aromas of petrol, matchstick and notably ripe white orchard fruit aromas. There is impressive volume to the succulent, lavishly rich and very rounded middle weight plus flavors that exude an appealing salinity on the well-detailed finale. This won't win any awards for elegance but it certainly is generously proportioned.

From clay-rich, west-facing lieu-dit En Tillets, the 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé Vignes Blanches reveals notes of pear, confit citrus, pastry cream and a deft touch of oak. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and saline, with chewy structuring extract and a long, flavorful finish.

Score: 92

The 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé Vignes Blanches has a very seductive, generous bouquet of precise, intense white peach and white chocolate aromas. The taut, linear palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity and a vibrant, energetic finish that shimmers with nervosité. What’s not to like here? Nothing.
