Tasting Notes

Bright medium red. Dark fruits, peppery herbs, licorice and subtle soil tones on the nose. Dense, fine-grained and highly concentrated, showing excellent sappy lift to its flavors of black cherry, cranberry and leather. Nicely rising, vibrant finish. There's plenty of medicinal reserve and underlying power here to support graceful development in bottle.

This is completely different from the Perrières from nose to tail as it were. The aromas are much more deeply pitched with game and earth characters combining with subtly spicy aromas of various dark berries. There is excellent richness, size, weight, muscle and power to the big-bodied flavors that conclude in a focused finish that is moderately rustic and slightly austere. This should be excellent in time though note that patience will definitely be required. Sweet spot Outstanding

The 2013 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru les Pruliers is slightly deeper in color than Chevillon’s other 2013s. The bouquet is one of his most sophisticated, with mineral-infused red and black fruit intermingling, almost crystalline in purity. The palate is harmonious straight from the off, replete with filigree tannins, well-judged acidity and a tense, rocky, structured finish that lingers long in the mouth. This will deserve several years aging - one of Bertrand and Denis's best contributions to the vintage.
