Tasting Notes

Brimming with blackberries, supple tannins and lively acidity, this is an immediately attractive St.-Emilion that’s easy to enjoy with food now, but has the structure to age for some years. Drink or hold.

The 2016 Corbin is a gorgeous, supple Saint-Émilion that will drink well with minimal cellaring. Floral notes add brightness and energy to a core of red cherry and plum fruit. Hints of chocolate, leather and menthol shape the persistent, substantial finish. A racy wine with no hard edges and tons of pure harmony, the 2016 is simply impeccable today. Tasted two times.

The 2016 Corbin, matured in 50% new oak, has a ravishing bouquet of red plum, bergamot and touches of peppermint. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannin and good backbone. Not complex, but fresh and well balanced, leading to a lightly spiced finish. Perhaps the "insider’s choice" on the Right Bank?
