Tasting Notes

Named after the limestone of Vergisson that's characterized by fossilized oyster shells, the 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé “Pentacrine” offers up aromas of pear, confit lemon, pastry cream and vanilla pod. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with a rich, gourmand profile that remains nicely balanced, lively and integrated.

The 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé Pentacrine has a little more rondeur on the nose compared to the Esprit Mineral, offering dried honey, pressed white flowers and honeysuckle; traces of jasmine appear with time. The taut, linear palate is fresh on the entry with a fine line of acidity and a brisk, quite saline finish that lingers in the mouth. Super-bon!
