Tasting Notes

A fresh, ripe, elegant and quite floral nose evidences hints of apple, pear and discreet spice aromas that are trimmed in relatively generous if not actually intrusive wood. The lavishly rich, full-bodied and mouth coating broad-shouldered flavors possess fine concentration and power while exhibiting excellent length on the well-balanced finale. Like the Truffière, this will need to develop more depth to merit my rating but the potential for that to occur over the next decade plus is present.

Score: 93

Bright yellow. Pure, fruit-driven aromas of yellow peach, apricot and pineapple complemented by a note of almond flower. Concentrated, sweet, somewhat burly Bâtard with noteworthy density to its pineapple, pear and peach flavors; not yet showing much minerality, though. Finishes powerful and persistent but a bit dry and warm.

Score: 90 - 92
