Tasting Notes

Pale, bright yellow. Pear, fresh nectarine and flowers on the nose and palate, complicated by toasty and leesy nuances and a whiff of anise. Supple, easygoing and rich, with an alluring sweetness countered by ripe acidity. A fairly full but fresh village wine with early mouthfilling appeal, but a bit drier and more serious on the firm back end. Showed increasing mid-palate definition as it opened in the glass. Excellent, classic Chassagne villages.

Score: 89

Here too the nose is quite pungent with its array of wood, petrol and matchstick. Otherwise there is even better mid-palate concentration if perhaps a bit less refinement to the medium weight flavors that coat the palate with dry extract on the sneaky long finish that offers acceptable complexity.
