The NV Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Les Pierrières (2016 base) is the wine that, to me, really shows Olivier Collin's style off to its greatest effect. Finely cut and chiseled, with striking energy, the Pierrières offers a taut expression of Chardonnay that provides a lovely contrast to the more supple Les Roises. Crushed rocks, lemon confit, almond, dried flowers. The purity and saline-infused energy of the flavors is just brilliant. Disgorged: March 1, 2020.

The NV Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Les Pierrières is fabulous. As is often the case, the Pierrières presents an explosive and crystalline expression of Chardonnay. Lemon, peel, crushed rocks, slate and dried pear are finely sketched. A wine of tension and energy, the Pierrières needs time in bottle to be at its very best. In this release, Les Pierrières is 50% 2014 and 50% 2013, bottled with 1.7 grams per liter of dosage. Disgorged: March, 2018. (93+)

The NV (2012) Les Pierrières offers tons of richness in all of its dimensions. The natural radiance of the 2012 base vintage, along with the addition of 20% reserve wines, give the Les Pierrières gorgeous intensity. Lemon confit, chamomile, spice and pastry notes flesh out in an effortless, fleshy Champagne endowed with striking depth and impeccable overall balance. What a gorgeous wine this is. Dosage is 1.7 grams per liter. Disgorged February 2016.
