Tasting Notes

The 2017 Latour-Martillac Blanc has a lifted linden, Granny Smith apple and nettle scented bouquet that opens nicely with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, fresh and focused with a satisfying sense of tension. It is a subtle Pessac-Léognan Blanc, unfolding in the glass to reveal light nectarine and stone fruit notes towards the finish. This is a strong performance from Latour-Martillac and it comes recommended.

Lovely white peach, citrus rind, and white flower notes all jump from the glass of the 2017 Château Latour-Martillac. Possessing a rounded, pure, layered style on the palate, with bright acidity and a clean finish, it’s another incredibly high-quality white from the Pessac-Léognan region.

A touch of reduction on the first nose clears to reveal a tight and austere wine that gathers steam through the palate and finishes with bright, juicy, mouthfilling stone fruits.

A more subtle aroma than on the Larrivet Haut-Brion just tasted. Citrus and stony minerality. Grapefruit-pith tang. Very crisp on the palate, almost eye-watering, but there's richness too, full-fruited and sweetened/balanced by the oak. Lightly chewy finish. Moderate length.

A dense and salty white with loads of apple, lemon and lime character. Medium to full body. Vivid finish.
