The 2016 Beaune 1er Cru Clos de la Mousse, a monopole of the domaine, was cropped at around 22 hectoliters per hectare. I found the nose better defined and more detailed than the Beaune du Château this year, floral and quite elegant in style. The palate is well balanced with supple tannin, veins of blue fruit strafing the red with a rounded, quite caressing finish. What a damn gorgeous little Beaune this is.
