Always one of my favorite wines, this blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon from 37 acres of vineyard in the southern part of the Médoc is a surprisingly large-scaled wine in 2005. Dense ruby/purple, this is certainly the most concentrated, largest-framed and muscular Beaulieu I have ever tasted. Rich, concentrated and cedary, with notes of fruitcake, black cherries and blackcurrants, this wine is a beauty and a major sleeper of the vintage. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. Score: 90 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2015-2021 30 June 2015 |

Made from a blend of 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a sensational value-priced wine. It reveals a dense ruby/purple color along with a sweet nose of white chocolate, black cherries, cassis, and earth, excellent texture, medium body, and soft tannins. This beauty represents a sensational bargain-priced Bordeaux to enjoy over the next 5-6 years. Score: 89 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2008-2014 01 August 2008 |

The brilliant St.-Emilion consultant, Stephane Derenoncourt, fashions wines at this impeccably run Bordeaux Superieur estate from a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Like so many smaller chateaux in 2005, this unbelievable offering as well as fabulous bargain transcends its class. There are 6,600 cases of this 2005, which achieved 13% alcohol naturally. It offers a dense purple color as well as a sweet nose of melted chocolate, cassis, and a subtle hint of wood. Opulent, round, and medium to full-bodied, it is ideal for drinking over the next 5-6 years. Score: 90 - 92 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2006-2012 30 April 2006 |
