A subtle but not invisible application of wood easily allows the aromas of violet, plum, red and dark cherry plus plenty of earth character to be appreciated. There is both good intensity and volume to the solidly concentrated and muscular big-bodied flavors that possess ample muscle and punch on the austere, precise and very serious finish. Bright, moderately saturated red-ruby. High-toned spearminty lift to the aromas of black cherry, fresh herbs and violet. Powerful but very dry and laid-back; less velvety than most of the other 2015s at this address. Gives an impression of superripe fruit and high pH but will need serious time in bottle to absorb its strong, granular tannins.
