The 2011 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos des Porrets Saint-Georges 1er Cru has a fragrant bouquet with redcurrant and cranberry, a subtle seawater scent that emerges with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, packed full of blackcurrant and cranberry. There is a trademark leafiness that develops towards the firm, structured finish with traces of black tea on the aftertaste. Give this another two or three years in bottle. Tasted at the Gouges retrospective at La Cabotte. Score: 92 Neal Martin, Vinous.com Maturity: 2020-2031 01 October 2018 |

The 2010 Nuits St. Georges Clos des Porrets Saint-Georges is the first wine in this lineup that shows the structure of the vintage. Freshly cut flowers, minerals, graphite and black cherries are woven into a textured fabric of notable class. I especially like its energy and drive. A precise, finely-chiseled finish rounds things out nicely. Score: 91 - 93 Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com Maturity: 2015-2025 01 February 2012 |

Good full red. Redcurrant, raspberry, crushed stone and smoky minerality on the rather serious nose. At once silky and tangy in the mouth, with raspberry and stone flavors dominating. A step up in breadth and dimension from the foregoing wines, offering lovely inner-mouth perfume. Very representative of the south side of the village: never with explosive fruit early, notes Gouges. Has the firm tannin/acid structure to age. This large Clos comprises 3.8 hectares of vines. Score: 91 - 93 Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com 01 January 2012 |
