Tasting Notes

There is just enough post-bottling sulfur present to render the nose difficult to assess but it shouldn't last. Otherwise there is good energy to the delicious and lightly mineral-inflected flavors that also possess a beguiling mouth feel while delivering excellent persistence on the citrus-tinged finale. Once again, this should keep well yet it's already sufficiently pliant as to be approachable young. Outstanding

The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Blagny has an attractive bouquet with scents of wild mint and broom, a hint of fennel emerging with time. The palate is well balanced and I like the acidic bite here, engendered by the higher altitude of vines (around 400 meters). Lively, racy with impressive focus, this is a linear and refreshing, quite mineral-driven Meursault that prospered during the warm 2015 vintages. This comes highly recommended.
