The 2016 Lafaurie-Peyraguey is stunning. Unctuous, layered and supremely beautiful, the 2016 has so much to offer. Baked apple, dried lemon peel, and a host of exotic floral notes all grace this exquisite Sauternes from Silvio Denz. The 2016 is rich and quite deep, and yet retains a striking sense of grace. In a word: gorgeous. Score: - Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com Maturity: 2020-2036 01 January 2019 |

The 2016 Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey has a perfumed, minerally bouquet that is taut and focused, beautifully defined and very precise. The palate is very well balanced with peach, nectarine and honey on the entry. This is a complex Sauternes, armed with superb acidity and bite, leading to a persistent finish that offers a dab of peaches and cream on the aftertaste. This is excellent. Heady. Big and voluptuous. Masses of botrytised grapes in here, surely? Rich but (just) not too heavy. Quite an impact! Score: 17 - 18 Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2025-2042 25 April 2017 |

This has a good, direct core of apricot, peach and mango notes, with a warm crust backdrop through the rounded finish. Still showing a bit of turbidity, so could move up as it continues to settle in. Score: 91 - 94 James Molesworth, Wine Spectator 07 April 2017 |

This is really crazy. The layers of fruit to this and the sheer intensity are really superb. Full-bodied and very sweet yet energetic and focused. Dense and tight. Tasted it and said OMG right away! Score: 98 - 99 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com 04 April 2017 |
