Tasting Notes

(half of these vines are 30 years old, the other half between 60 and 70; the crop level was held to 25 hectoliters per hectare by hail, vs. a normal 45 to 60, said Mestre): Bright yellow. Aromas of fresh peach, apricot and nut oil are lifted by lime and crushed stone nuances. Densely packed, fine-grained and tight but not hard, with spice and pepper notes currently dominating the palate. Finishes saline and stony, with good verve.

Score: 90 - 93
