The 2014 Petit-Figeac is laced with the essence of sweet dark cherry, plum, tobacco, mint, licorice and leather. Pliant, supple and expressive, it is a highly appealing second wine. One third of the crop went into this wine. Labelled La Grangeneuve de Figeac until 2012. 50% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon. 35% new oak. Very dark – especially in comparison to Cheval Blanc just tasted. Rather juicy and toasty and friendly. The aim is to make something to drink between two and eight years. A juicy and fresh wine with blackberry and mineral character. Full and silky with delicious fruit, wet earth and stone character. Excellent second wine.
