Compact cedar blackcurrant nose - rather muted. Ripe palate with just a hint of sur-maturite. The palate has good grip, chewy thick tannins lacquered with succulent black fruits. Great depth and length. Superb for the vintage. Tasted May 2001. Score: 89 - 90 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 01 May 2001 |

Full red-ruby. Cassis and licorice on the nose, plus a slight green note of currant leaf. Juicy and fairly intensely flavored but with the leafy nuance repeating. Chunky tannins are a bit tough for the wine's middle-palate material. Finishing note of licorice. Score: 85 - 88 Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com 01 May 2000 |
