Tasting Notes

An expressive, airy and ripe nose layers together notes of lemon, lavender, acacia blossom and an interesting hint of tangerine. There is outstanding intensity to the saline and well-detailed middle weight flavors that brim with sappy dry extract on the slightly more complex and tension-filled finale. Lovely. Outstanding

There is just half the usual crop of the 2014 Meursault Clos de la Barre because of hail. It has a composed bouquet with light tropical tones, inward looking at the moment, perhaps needing more mineral expression. The palate is quite tense on the entry, the acidity a little sharper than the village cru, with fine precision if not length on the finish. This is a good Meursault, one that I would broach in its youth, leaving its siblings for the cellar.

High-pitched aromas of lime and mint. More precise and focused than the Désirée, with bright acidity intensifying the musky lime and mineral flavors. Lovely energy here.
