Tasting Notes

This is sufficiently reduced such that the nose is presently unreadable. There is excellent intensity and really lovely detail to the racy middle weight flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the classy, refined and beautifully well-balanced finale. This delicate effort should reward 6 to perhaps 8 years of bottle age. Outstanding

Score: 91 - 93

The 2014 Meursault 1er Cru Bouchère has a little more complexity on the nose compared to the Desirée: nectarine and even a touch of passion fruit, very refined with hints of yellow flowers. The palate is crisp and fresh, more saline than the Desirée, and with more energy and depth towards the finish. It just flows across the mouth with its harmony and poise. Enjoy this over the next 10-15 years, possibly longer.

(70% hail; harvested on September 11): Musky aromas and flavors of peach, lemon, lime, quinine and stone. Juicy, sappy and weightless, offering excellent clarity and intensity to its fruit and spice flavors. Finishes broad, long and subtly spicy. Lafon has uust two and a half barrels of this juice, none of them new.

Score: 91 - 93
