This well-respected cru bourgeois from proprietor Vialard has a tendency to be relatively tannic, which could be scary in a vintage like 2005, but this wine is dense, powerful and rich. It displays a still youthful dark plum/purple color, medium body, and lots of minerality and fruit. Forget it for another 3-4 years and drink it over the next decade. Score: 87 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2019-2029 29 June 2015 |

Licorice, mineral and tar aromas follow through to a medium body, with firm tannins and a clean finish. Always a little tough, but stylish. Best after 2010. Score: 87 James Suckling, Wine Spectator Maturity: 2010+ 31 March 2008 |

Bright purple. Quite gassy at this stage but very lively and much suppler than the old style Cissac. Lift and even a bit of feminine grace! Aérien even. Good wine, though longstanding fans may be puzzled by it. Score: 16 Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2009-2014 13 April 2006 |
