Dusty cherry, currant and leafy underbrush notes are the highlights of this tightly wound red, which is not giving much today, yet there is a center of sweet berry fruit. Fine, resonant and fresh aftertaste, with refined tannins. Best from 2022 through 2040. Score: 96 Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator Maturity: 2022-2040 20 September 2017 |

There is significantly more elegance to the perfumed aromas of red cherry, rose petal, spice and sandalwood nuances. The detailed and highly energetic medium-bodied flavors possess a sleek, even silky mouth feel before culminating in a lingering and ever-so-mildly austere finale. This well-balanced effort should drink reasonably well after only 7 to 8 years of bottle age. Score: 90 - 93 Allen Meadows, Burghound Maturity: 2026+ 15 January 2016 |

The 2014 Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru has an elegant red berry bouquet that could disarm you at a hundred paces. This has so much finesse and detail. The palate is taut and crisp, bright, almost lucid red cherry fruit laced with orange zest, leading to a very refined and sustained finish. This is a lovely wine -- sensual yet understated. Score: 93 - 95 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2018-2038 01 December 2015 |
