Firm reduction denies an evaluation of the nose. There is though excellent verve and freshness to the racier and even finer middle weight flavors that evidence notably more minerality before concluding in a balanced and saline finale that is a bit longer if slightly less complex. (from vines between 40 and 50 years of age): Pale yellow-green. Cool aromas of lime blossom, mint, menthol and crushed stone. Dense, sappy and light on its feet, with a repeating menthol quality contributing to an impression of energy and lifting the flavors of lime and spices. Finishes with suble, lingering saline perfume. Score: 91 - 93 Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com 01 September 2015 |
