Tasting Notes

The slightly curious nose mixes reduction and floral aromas. On the plus side there is an excellent sense of underlying tension and detail to the utterly delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess a caressing mouth feel, all wrapped in a sleek, focused, complex and well-balanced finale. Note that this classy villages is well worth your interest and it should also drink well early.

Score: 89 - 91

Pale bright yellow. Highly aromatic nose combines peach, ginger and quinine. Rich, sweet and nicely concentrated, with a ripe peach flavor complicated by saline minerality and a toasty note from the 10% new oak. Carillon owns five hectares of village vines in Puligny-Montrachet; he blended this wine at the beginning and has 120 barrels of this juice. A lovely village wine in the making.

Score: 89 - 91
