Definite mature hints at the rim. Quite mature nose - much more developed than the 1999 for example. Firm backbone but nicely developed - like 2002 - on the nose. This muscular red offers coffee, mineral and plum flavors wrapped in a blanket of ripe but firm tannins. Not giving much now, but it has concentration and balance, and it should age well. Best after 2004. Score: 90 Winespectator.com, Wine Spectator Maturity: 2004+ 15 November 2002 |
