Tasting Notes

Deep red-ruby. Mellow nose melds currant, cherry, clove, underbrush and crushed rock, along with exotic cedar and coconut oak notes and a suggestion of dried flowers. Silky and concentrated, but with strong acidity keeping the ripe currant and salty mineral flavors under wraps today; revealed a touch of dried fruits with air. Finishes tactile, savory and long, with big, ripe tannins buffered by the wine's intense material. Suave, classically dry Corton from very thin soil over limestone bedrock at the top of the hill.

Score: 90 - 93

45% new oak. Dark ruby. Power and some strong savour on the nose and then very charming sweet fruit on the palate that should see out the fairly powerful tannic charge. Just very slightly bitter on the finish.

Score: 16 - 17
