Tasting Notes

The 2012 Presle Blanc de Noirs Pinot Noir Millésime (disgorged in April 2016 without dosage, but indicated as Brut on the label) opens super clear, refined and pure on the nose. It has a rather fine and lean, yet complex character with lemon and deep mineral flavors. Full-bodied and rich (though less erotic than Les Ursules), this is a spicy, clear, fresh and firmly structured Pinot with grip and a long, refreshing finish. I'd cellar this complex and persistent Champagne for another two to 12 years.

Score: 94

The 2012 Blanc de Noirs Presle is another superb wine from Cédric Bouchard. Ample, creamy and layered, the 2012 possesses exceptional balance from start to finish. Intense red stone fruit, mineral, kirsch, wild flowers, smoke, slate and herbs are some of the many notes that give the 2012 its distinctive personality. All the elements are in the right place. In terms of its feel, the Presle is the creamiest and most overtly Pinot-driven Champagne in the range. In a word: magnificent! Disgorged: April 2016. No dosage.
